      <image:title>ARITA KRITICOU POTAMITOU - ABOUT</image:title>
<image:caption>Arita was born and raised in Cyprus, a warm, ethereal island in the heart of the Mediterranean. Whilst growing up she always immersed herself in athletics but wasn’t until her university studies that she became exposed to yoga asana practice for the first time through a power yoga dvd. In 2012 she recalls something ashtanga related to have caught here eye that triggered her to start practicing ashtanga daily on her own. She became captivated and realized very soon that there was much more to learn from this system besides the challenging physical asana practice. Apart from the many lifts, jumps, folds, backbends, deep twists and overpowering breathing…there was a whole internal world ready to be exposed, explored and transformed. It only took a couple of months before she made her first pilgrimage to Mysore in 2013 to study with her teacher and guru Sharath Jois. Funnily enough she found the whole experience too intense and was certain that she’d never return to Mysore again. However within a month’s time of returning back home she figured that the seed had already been planted, the agni was burning fiercely and all she wanted to do was to be back under the watchful eye of her guru, ready to learn and keep on learning in this lifetime and the next. Arita is a KPJAYI authorized level I teacher since 2015. She was given the blessing to teach by her teacher Sharath Jois on her third trip, at the age of 28. She is the first Cypriot student to be authorized by KPJAYI. She has been devoted to this practice and her teacher Sharathji ever since and has visited him every year following her first trip. She is so excited to share this practice with her local community and everyone interested. She takes the practice very seriously and especially the sharing and teaching part. Her teacher Sharathji always talks about the significance of the 4 d’s that one must apply to this practice. These are dedication, discipline, determination and devotion. Arita vows that these are all you need really, the rest of the magic will happen over time. This practice has been heart opening for her and wishes to guide others to do the same.</image:caption>
